DR. DAMIEN MYERS
THE FOUNDER
Dr. Damien Myers’ personal journey inspired the creation of PrimeMed Academy. As the only American-born Black male in his medical school class, he witnessed how the medical pathway often excluded students of color and those without college-educated parents. Determined to change this, Dr. Myers co-founded PrimeMed Academy to help underrepresented students navigate the barriers to careers in medicine. By providing rigorous instruction, mentorship, and connections to the medical community, the academy empowers students to pursue their dreams and address the health disparities affecting their communities.
With degrees from Morehouse College, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dr. Myers has mentored thousands of students, many of whom have entered medical and public health fields. His leadership and commitment to equity have earned him national recognition, including awards for reducing health disparities and increasing diversity in the medical pipeline. Through his work, he continues to create opportunities for the next generation of healthcare leaders.
SAM LENNON
CHIEF BUSINESS ADVISOR
Sam Lennon is a proven leader in business development, government contracting, and fundraising, having secured over $900 million in federal contracts throughout his career. As President & CEO of L2 Defense, Inc., he has built a nationally recognized company specializing in defense, emergency management, and workforce training solutions. His extensive experience navigating federal, state, and private sector funding opportunities makes him a critical asset in scaling PrimeMed Academy’s mission to support underresourced youth in healthcare careers.
Beyond his corporate success, Sam is deeply committed to education and economic empowerment. He has led career exposure programs for Baltimore youth and serves on multiple nonprofit boards, including the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Board of Trustees and Sinai Hospital’s Board of Directors. As Chief Business Advisor, he leverages his expertise in securing funding, forging strategic partnerships, and developing scalable initiatives that ensure equitable access to healthcare education and career pathways.
